Original Sweet Chili Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 large chili peppers
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 200ml glass/cup
Preparation:
Chop the chili peppers and peel the garlic cloves. Place them in a food processor. Add vinegar, sugar, and water, then blend until smooth.
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix the cold water and cornstarch in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the saucepan and continue cooking for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
While warm, the sauce may appear thin, but as it cools, it will reach the desired consistency. The cornstarch helps keep the chili and garlic from settling at the bottom of the jar.
Enjoy your homemade sweet chili sauce!
